Shelter and social rehabilitation center
The Department of Social Rehabilitation of the Visually Impaired provides full or semi-inpatient rehabilitation and rehabilitation services for the visually impaired aged 5-29. The duration of the rehabilitation course is 6 months. It is fully inpatient for visually impaired people living in the regions (including 6 months of day and night stay and 3 meals a day), and semi-stationary for people living in Baku (from 09:00 to 18:00, 3 meals a day) being). Listeners have the right to use all types of services provided by the Rehabilitation Department.
Within the framework of rehabilitation and rehabilitation, the Rehabilitation Department offers the following services:
Medical rehabilitation - the provision of therapeutic, neuropathological, ophthalmological examination and treatment, Low Vision (protection of residual light and development of visual acuity) to students by highly qualified medical professionals;
Vocational rehabilitation - theoretical and practical training in professions such as computer, weaving, preparation of dactyl materials, carpet weaving, bead and weaving;
Sports rehabilitation - swimming training;
Conducting trainings on Braille alphabet, preparation for inclusive education, speech and behavior culture as part of pedagogical rehabilitation;
Culture and art rehabilitation - playing musical instruments, conducting vocal trainings;
Psychological rehabilitation - training by a professional psychologist on overcoming psychological barriers, overcoming complexes, inculcating communication skills;
Social rehabilitation - development of spatial orientation through trainings of typhopedagogues and social workers (use of hand sticks, sound acoustics, increasing the sensation of the feet, learning colors);
Household rehabilitation - organization of trainings on the use of household appliances, housekeeping and self-service rules;
All services provided by the Department of Social Rehabilitation of the Visually Impaired are provided free of charge at the expense of the state.
Those wishing to be admitted to the Rehabilitation Department can apply to the Social Service Agency or Friend Service. The following documents are attached to the application:
Copy of identity document;
Extract from the decision of the Medical Social Expert Commission (MSEC) on the assessment of disability, which confirms the disability of persons with visual impairments;
Medical certificate with no information about infectious diseases and mental health status;
1 photo in 3x4 size.
