On August 30, 2002, Samyar Abdullayev was appointed President of the Azerbaijan Society of the Visually Impaired by the Assembly of the Youth of Azerbaijan.
During Samyar Abdullayev's presidency, Az.GAC has successfully implemented many large-scale projects for the social welfare of visually impaired citizens, and created all conditions to eliminate their problems.
Reyhan Jafarova started working in the Azerbaijan Society of the Visually Impaired in 2002. He is currently the Vice-President of Az.GAC and the Chairman of the Public Association "Social Support to People in Need of Care".
He has been the author and executor of dozens of large-scale and successful innovative projects on the problems of adaptation, integration and habilitation of visually impaired people, and has made great strides in creating affordable jobs for visually impaired citizens in the country.

WHO ARE WE
The Azerbaijan Society of the Blind, now the Azerbaijan Society of the Visually Impaired (hereinafter referred to as Az.GAC), has been operating since 1931, was an influential organization for the disabled and played an important role in the socio-economic life of the country. Thus, the society currently has more than 25,000 visually impaired members. Az.GAC, 27 regional organizations, Braille Information Resource Center Limited Liability Company, Baku Educational Production Enterprise Limited Liability Company, has signed dozens of large-scale and successful projects for the social welfare of visually impaired people. has made great strides.
With the support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Information Resource Centers were built in Nakhchivan AR, Ganja and Yevlakh within the project “Ensuring free access to ICT for the visually impaired” and “Rehabilitation for the Visually Impaired” in Zabrat settlement, Baku Center ”was built. President Ilham Aliyev personally attended the opening of these special enterprises.

The electronic portal for the visually impaired operates as a result of a joint partnership between the Social Support for Persons in Need of Care and the Azerbaijan Society of the Visually Impaired. The portal was created with the support of the Social Services Agency under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection.
The main purpose of the e-portal is to help people with visual impairments integrate into society, to support the realization of their physical and mental potential.
The electronic portal will be available not only in Azerbaijan, but also around the world for the visually impaired.
