The festive event was organized jointly with the Public Union for Social Support to Persons in Need of Care (PUSCS) and the "Azerbaijan Society of the Visually Impaired" Public Union, by order of the Social Services Agency under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, within the framework of the project "Organization of a New Year's celebration for children from families in need of special care (with disabilities under the age of 18)".
About 100 children with visual impairments and their accompanying parents participated in the festive celebration.
Each event for children with visual impairments was prepared in accordance with individual needs and fully accessible conditions were created for them.
Samyar Abdullayev, Chairman of the PU of the Society of the Visually Impaired, made a speech and stated that the state provides great support to social groups. He noted that steps are being taken to strengthen social protection, especially for children with physical disabilities. Emphasizing the increase in social expenditures in the state budget for next year, the chairman of the union said that the attention and care of the President of Azerbaijan and the successful continuation of social policy by the relevant executive authorities are commendable.
Later, the representative of the Social Services Agency, Lamiya Aliyeva, said that attention is always paid to people in need of special care. Noting that the agency regularly supports the holding of holiday celebrations, L. Aliyeva expressed special gratitude to the organizers of the event.
One of the memorable moments of the event was the show program presented by various fairy-tale characters. Children felt the New Year spirit more deeply by watching the live performances of their favorite fairy-tale heroes.
Fairy-tale characters entertained children with their cheerful and colorful performances. Special games and competitions were also organized at the celebration. Children both had fun and actively participated in games and competitions.
Well-known singers and musicians made the holiday even more joyful for children with visual impairments and their families, entertaining them with music and songs.
The musicians further enhanced the festive atmosphere with musical numbers presented in an accessible form especially for children.
Special gifts were presented to each child at the celebration, and they were given various educational and developmental materials, as well as fun toys and technological devices.
It was noted that such projects and events serve the purpose of ensuring equal opportunities for every member of society and enriching the lives of children with special needs.
