Giya Pachkhatashvili was born on January 29, 1961 in the village of Gakh-Gurju, Gakh region.
After graduating from the Republican Boarding School for Blind Children in Baku, Giya was admitted to the university in 1981 and was appointed to the Moscow State University named after MVLomonosov within the group selected by the order of the First Secretary of the Republic Heydar Aliyev. ends.

Giya Pachkhatashvili is a member of the Writers' Union of Azerbaijan (2006), Georgia (2007) and Russia (1997). He is a member of the Union of Journalists of Azerbaijan (1989). - Awarded the "HB Zardabi" award (2005). At the celebration of the 100th anniversary of Samad Vurgun, he was awarded the "Samad Vurgun - 100" medal in 2006 for the translation of his book "Golos". He is the first and last laureate of the "Light of Hope" literary award named after Fikret Mursagulov, established by the Press Council of Azerbaijan (2012). In 2018, he was awarded the Shahmar Akbarzadeh International Literary Prize by the VECTOR International Publishing House.
