The presentation of the project "Motherland is the light of my eyes" was held
Listen buttonOn November 13, the presentation ceremony of the next documentary film made by the Azerbaijan Visually Impaired Society with the financial assistance of the State Support Agency for Non-Governmental Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan was held. After the National Anthem was played, the memory of the martyrs who died for the freedom of the Karabakh lands was commemorated with a minute of silence. The president of the society, Samyar Abdullayev, informed about the history of the International Day of the Visually Handicapped and the work done in the field of social adaptation, employment, solving problems and improving the social welfare of the disabled belonging to that group, and noted that in recent years, about 500 members of the society have been provided with housing.
Then the film "Motherland is the light of my eyes" was watched. The film depicts the battle path of ensigns Rahman Nuriyev and Kamran Bakhshizade, their bravery and heroism while repelling the enemy attack. Rahman, who returned to the battlefield after receiving seven shrapnel wounds and being treated on October 2, lost consciousness from the wound and was in a coma for 51 days, losing part of his head and his eyes. He was asked, "Why did you enter the battle for the second time?" when asked a question, he answers in one sentence: "The homeland was in trouble...". Kamran also faced the same fate. On his birthday, on October 14, he was deprived of the light of day as a result of the fire fired from the nearby Armenian post after capturing the enemy's position with his fellow soldiers in the battle in the direction of Sugovushan. The mortar fire destroyed his eyeballs and poured them into his hands. Kamran opened his hands and tried to collect them, but could not achieve anything. The doctors performed two operations on the brave warrior for nearly 10 hours and saved his life at the cost of great difficulty. In the stills of the film, Rahman remembers those days and says: "Although I was not a martyr myself, my eyes became a martyr..." After the screening, the head of the project, Reyhan Jafarova, a member of the "Garabagh Veterans" Public Union, journalist Ray Karimoglu, People's Artist Yasin Garayev and others highly valued the work of the creative team of the film "Light of My Country" and spoke about the positive role that the film will play in the military-patriotic education of young people. The viewers of the film invited both heroes - Rahman Nuriyev and Kamran Bakhshizade - to the stage and left the hall under loud applause.
