The November 8 victory is the biggest victory we have won in our history of the last 200 years

The Azerbaijani Army showed courage, bravery and great heroism in the 44-day Patriotic War and liberated our occupied territories, including Nagorno-Karabakh, and the territorial integrity of our country was ensured. Occupying Armenia, which was protected by international organizations and some big states for many years, bowed before the military-political diplomacy of the President of Azerbaijan. The main author of this unforgettable victory is the President, Muzaffar Commander-in-Chief Mr. Ilham Aliyev and the Azerbaijani Army led by him.

At the same time, this historic victory is the result of the great leader Heydar Aliyev's architect, the development that President Mr. Ilham Aliyev has successfully implemented in all fields in our country, especially the great achievements achieved in the construction of the army. The great victory won in the Patriotic War is the brightest page of our history.

The families of our heroes, veterans and veterans who were martyred for the historic victory are always surrounded by the special attention and care of our state. The attention shown and the measures implemented in this direction are a priority in the state policy.

Let me note that the Patriotic War, which started on September 27, 2020, lasted for 44 days and resulted in the return of our occupied territories, became the brightest page of our history, a source of pride and pride of the Azerbaijani people.

It was a proud moment to restore our territorial integrity and sovereignty in September 2023 with a local anti-terrorist operation, to raise our national flag in Khankendi, Khojaly, Khojavand and Agdara, and then to hold the Victory Parade in Khankendi was once again a demonstration of the power of our people, the bravery and skill of our army. We are witnessing that the unity of our people like an iron fist around the Victorious Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev has already become a symbol of our state.

After the military and political victory in the Patriotic War, our state and people have entered a completely new and proud stage of their history. Now the world community and the international community recognize Azerbaijan not only as a country that has achieved success in various fields, but also as a powerful state. Azerbaijan, which National Leader Heydar Aliyev gave liberation to and led to the path of development, became an absolute power capable of solving its most painful problem by becoming stronger and rising under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev.

Looking at the history of Azerbaijan over the last two hundred years, we witness that the once-and-for-all end to the series of usurpation and ethnic cleansing carried out by the quarrelsome Armenian nationalism gave impetus to the beginning of a new period of development in the history of Azerbaijan statehood. Our people, who achieved a great victory under the leadership of their invincible commander and visionary leader, have firmly declared that no one will be able to speak to them in the language of force and pressure from now on.

It is a fact that the road to victory has cost our people huge losses. Tens of thousands of Azerbaijanis were killed, injured and maimed, and as a result of mass ethnic cleansing, more than 1 million of our compatriots were condemned to live as refugees and displaced people for more than 30 years. The fate of nearly 4,000 Azerbaijanis who went missing during the First Karabakh War is still unknown...

Let me note that the successes achieved by the victorious Azerbaijani people in the Patriotic War are also reflected in the large-scale restoration and construction works in Karabakh and East Zangezur. New life is coming to our lands that were devastated during the occupation. Huge projects aimed at the return of internally displaced persons to their native lands are being implemented.

I am sure that under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, the state of Azerbaijan will continue to take all necessary measures to protect the achievements of the historical victory won in the Patriotic War and to prevent new acts of hostility against our people and our state.
