Social rehabilitation services for children launched in Shaki
Within the framework of a project financed by the Social Services Agency under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Azerbaijan and implemented by the Public Union “Social Support for People in Need of Care,” social rehabilitation services have been launched in the city of Shaki.

According to the chairperson of the Public Union leading the project, Reyhan Jafarova, the main goal is to organize accessible and high-quality services funded by the state for children under the age of 18 with disabilities. Within this framework, the center offers individual development programs, group sessions, speech and psychological rehabilitation, as well as sports and social adaptation training, with the participation of psychologists, speech therapists, educators, and social workers.

Specialized training sessions are also conducted for children with visual impairments based on a dedicated program. They are taught spatial orientation, sound-based navigation, recognition of tactile information, and skills for accessing audio information. A wide range of developmental tools is used during the training sessions.

The project will continue until December 30, 2025, and is expected to contribute to the social integration of dozens of children in the Shaki region, the development of daily life skills, and the reduction of the burden on families.
